Our Medication-Assisted Treatment Programs

Why do we use medication in addiction treatment? MAT programs are an evidence-based approach to treating opioid addiction, and they have been shown to be more effective than other methods of treatment like detoxification or behavioral therapy alone.

By using medication to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings, patients are able to focus on their recovery without the distraction of constantly fighting their addiction. This allows them to participate in counseling and other therapies that can address the underlying causes of their addiction and help them develop healthy coping skills.

Suboxone is our medication of choice for MAT programs. It is a safe and effective medication that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid addiction. Suboxone works by binding to the same receptors in the brain that are targeted by opioids like heroin, but it does not produce the same high as these drugs.

How MAT and Counseling Work Together

Medication alone is not enough to treat addiction, which is why our MAT programs also include counseling and other forms of support.

Counseling involves meeting with a therapist on a regular basis to discuss your goals for treatment and any challenges you may be facing. During these sessions, you’ll:

  • Learn about addiction and its causes
  • Develop healthy coping skills
  • Identify triggers for drug use and learn how to avoid them
  • Get support from others who are also in recovery

This comprehensive approach to treatment ensures that you have the tools you need to successfully recover from addiction.
